Northern Indiana Hand & Wrist Center, the office of Dr. John H. Mahon, continued its venture into the world of social media this week by launching its very own Facebook page. In doing so, we have created another means by which to communicate both education relating to the various conditions of the hand, wrist and elbow as well as office happenings.
“Along with our website and YouTube Channel, the creation of a Facebook page allows us to both engage and inform” states Jill Cozart, Practice Manager. “Our combined on-line presence will appeal not only the casual internet user looking for basic information on common conditions such as Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, but also to those individuals who are seeking to understand their symptoms or condition on a deeper level.”
As a member of both the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgery (AAOS) and the American Society for Surgery of the Hand (ASSH), Dr. Mahon is a proponent of patient education. While it should be noted that our sites by no means replace the advice of a licensed medical doctor, people will be able to access condition-specific information and educate themselves about ailments both common and unusual. With the help of educational resources from the AAOS and the ASSH, we believe that our on-line offerings provide a great starting point for those looking to educate themselves either prior to any medical appointment or even after their course of treatment has begun.
