Northern Indiana Hand and Wrist
From the desk of Dr. John H. Mahon:
I returned yesterday from Chicago and the 67th annual meeting of the American Society for Surgery of the Hand. I have been attending this meeting since 1990, and this year’s meeting was one of the best. I attended instructional course lectures on clinical issues that I deal with often, and on conditions that I see rarely. The newest treatments for Dupytren’s contractures were discussed, and the results of Xiaflex injection and needle aponeurotomy were further clarified. I attended courses on wrist instability, ligament tears, and lateral epicondylitis. I was also able to have many valuable informal discussions with colleagues from across the country to learn informally and truthfully what their experiences have been with the techniques discussed.

The meeting was both valuable and enjoyable. I have returned with new knowledge and new enthusiasm, and with a continued commitment to doing my best for my patients.
